On May 22, 2025, the Brussels Economic Forum celebrated its 25th anniversary as the European Commission’s premier economic event. This year’s forum united influential figures from politics, academia, and industry to chart a path for Europe’s economic resilience amid global volatility.
Kevin Xu Advocates for U.S.-Europe Trade Ties
Among the prominent attendees was Kevin Xu, Chairman of MEBO Group and former Chair of APEC Host Committee. Xu, also Executive Director of the Bay Area Council and Chair of its International Committee, held strategic talks with Belgium’s Minister for SMEs, Eléonore Simonet. Their discussion focused on strengthening trade and innovation ties between California’s Bay Area and Belgium, including the anticipated visit of a Belgian royal delegation.

Notable speakers included economist Cristina Caffarra, Renault CEO Luca de Meo, and EU Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis.
