About Cal State LA and Rongxiang Xu Bioscience Innovation Center

As Los Angeles's premier comprehensive public university, California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) has excelled in fostering local technological innovation, employment, and economic growth by integrating academic institutions with businesses and public service sectors. The university is anchored by the Rongxiang Xu College of Health and Human Services, which significantly advances diversity and ethnic inclusion, ranking it first among U.S. universities for improving the economic status of students from low-income families post-graduation.

Central to these efforts is the Rongxiang Xu Bioscience Innovation Center. Positioned at the heart of the "California Bio Valley," the center was conceptualized by MEBO Group Chairman Kevin Xu. Spanning 20,000 square feet, it houses Cal State LA’s BioSpace incubator and includes versatile wet and dry lab spaces, multifunctional classrooms, and state-of-the-art facilities, making it a hub for bioscience entrepreneurship and job creation in Los Angeles. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Rongxiang Xu Bioscience Innovation Center played a crucial role by providing safe and accurate testing services to one-third of Los Angeles’s population, significantly aiding in the containment of the virus spread.
