Enterprises/Manufacturing As early as the year of 1991, taking advantage of the favorite policy for Special Economic Zone, MEBO Group set up Shantou MEBO Pharmaceutical Manufactory in Shantou Special Economic Zone. The facility conforms to GMP with a potential productivity of million tubes of MEBO ointments annually. Both technology forces and facility meet international standards. The manufactory put the group's initial scientific achievements ---- Moist Exposed Burn Ointment into the international market by large quantity and standardized production methods, which provides a quality guarantee to create "MEBO"--- an international well-know trademark. With the growing of the group, a pilot Pharmaceutical Manufactory of Beijing Guangming Chinese Medicine Institute for Burns, Wounds and Ulcers was set up in Beijing to satisfy the gradually increasing market demands. The Manufactory is responsible for the production of MEBO ointment for domestic market, the development of new products, pilot production and the production of skincare products. Besides, it undertakes an important task to ensure that there are matured products being marketed, newly developed products being under pilot production and new projects being studied continually. The series MEBO products have been developed and marketed one by one in recent years include SCAReducer, Cleansing Cream, Irritation Cream and Dermhealth Cream. All of them, made with active botanic ingredients and MEBO base which have a function of physiological metabolism, are developed on the basis of the skin repairing and regenerating theory proposed by Professor Rongxiang Xu. At mean time, a number of new series productssuch as MEBO Protection Cream, Nutrition Cream, Seawater and Sunburn-proof Cream have passed semi-phase trial. And other functional new products with breakthrough features are under study.
From 1996 the Group has entered into an era of high-speed development. To keep up the forward steps and launch advanced research, the group has invested about 200 million Chinese yuan in building "Xu Rongxiang's Life-Science City" in Chinese Youth Technology Zone. The City, covering a total area of 45000 square meters, is designed to be built into a modernized and comprehensive architectural complex, integrating research, production, trade, medical treatment as well as service. It includes GMP-conforming Pharmaceutical Building, Center Laboratory Building, Commerce and Trade Building. At present, the complex has completed first phase of construction and the second is undergoing. Meanwhile, the group holds the strategy to independently or jointly set up overseas pharmaceutical manufactories under the premise of matured condition, by which Chinese MEBO series products are introduced into the world market. Julphar of the United Arab Emirates, the largest pharmaceuticals in Middle East, and Unipharma of Syria have separately established the cooperation relationship with MEBO Group. They manufacture MEBO medicines and skin care products for countries in Middle East since it is more easily accepted by local people when medicines are jointly manufactured in their own countries. In addition, Thailand MEBO Pharmaceuticals is planned to establish by registered Thailand MEBO Corporation Ltd. to satisfy the demands from Southeast Asia market. The similar projects such as setting up a manufactory and laboratory in U.S.A are also taken into consideration. Marketing Marketing and Sale is a lifeline that the Group relies on to expand economic power. MEBO Group puts the great stress on the role of medical technique which pioneers to explore the markets as well as the corresponding policy of area marketing & sale. All of the marketed products by MEBO group are of high-tech featured with scientific breakthroughs and forerunning concept and developed in accordance with Professor Rongxiang Xu's concept of life science. MEBO marketing in Middle East began with Professor Rongxiang Xu successfully treating a little princess of United Arab Emirates and Syrian military army burn patients. The cooperation with Unipharm of Syria and with Julphar of UAE was initiated successively in 1996. The success in above two countries directly led to MEBO products registration in 9 Middle East countries. The transaction amount according to the signed agreement with the two countries has exceeded 10 million US dollars per year. In 1996, MEBO was approved to be imported and marketed in South Korea, the third largest medicine market in Asia. Followed by Professor Rongxiang Xu's trips on academic to South Korea and doctors from South Korea visiting and being trained in China, an overall MEBO burn ointment entering into Korean medicine markets has been witnessed. As the first step entering Europe and American markets, in 1996 MEBO was licensed to market in UK and some Western European Community countries as botanic skin care products and are available in several European chain stores. Meanwhile, aiming to gain FDA's approval as a botanic medicine, MEBO has been granted two U.S. patents and has had access to the FDA approval procedure after Professor Rongxiang Xu's triple visits to USA. Thus, the efforts to explore FDA approval so as to get overall entrance to markets worldwide have fully launched in Los Angeles headquarters of Group. Beijing MEBO High-Tech Corporation Ltd. was registered in 1995 as the principal part of domestic trade and capital operation. It dedicates to evolving into a modern enterprise integrated with high-technology, products trading as well as capital operation. On the one hand, MEBO Corp. is independently exploring the market for MEBO skin care products like SCAReducer and Soften Beauty Cream, etc. backed by technological advantages of the Group.
