The success of Professor Xu Rongxiang's medical team in treating Thailand burn patients in Bangkok gas explosion in 1990 contributed to the registration and marketing of MEBO Burn ointment and popularization of MEBT in Thailand. MEBT has been applied in several hospitals and clinics to treat burn and ulcer patients. In order to promote proper clinical application of MEBT/MEBO in hospitals, the academic organization 'CBAIM' sent burn care professionals to Thailand to train their phsicians and nurses. In 1996, followed by the establishment of MEBO Thailand Co., Ltd., the largest pharmaceutical company in Thailand has committed to market MEBO.
MEBO marketing in Middle East began with Professor Xu Rongxiang's successful treatment of a little princess of United Arab Emirates and Syrian military army burn patients. The cooperation with Unipharm of Syria and with Julphar of UAE was initiated successively in 1996. The success in above two countries directly led to MEBO products' registration in 9 Middle East countries.
In 1996, MEBO was approved to be imported and marketed in South Korea, the third largest medicine market in Asia. Followed by Professor Xu Rongxiang's trips on academic to South Korea and doctors from South Korea visiting and being trained in China, an overall MEBO burn ointment entering into Korean medicine markets has been witnessed. Aiming to gain FDA's approval as a botanic medicine, MEBO has been granted five U.S. patents and has had access to the FDA approval procedure. At present, MEBO burn ointment is undergoing phase-Άς clinical trial in FDA. Thus, the efforts to explore FDA approval so as to get overall entrance to markets worldwide have fully launched in the oversea headquarter of MEBO Group.
By far, MEBO products had successfully registered in 23 countries in the world and the marketing network spreads over more than 50 countries and areas.
