MEBO International Group is a good community member in the society. Professor Rongxiang Xu, president of MEBO International Group, is also the president of The Chinese Burn Association of the Integration of Traditional and Western Medicine (CBAIM). CBAIM was officially founded on December 28, 1996; it is an independent, none-profit organization dedicated to stimulating and supporting burn-related research, education, care, rehabilitation, and prevention. Especially to worldwide spread and popularize the Burns Regenerative Therapy, which is an innovation in burn care field, proposed by Prof. Xu. To advance these goals, the CBAIM sets up a national medical network with many burn centers and hospitals to provide first aid service and medical supervision, sponsors a variety of educational programs, fellowships, research, teaching and publications.
CBAIM is a unique and forerunning academic organization dominated by Chinese medical philosophy and enriched with the tools of modern medical research to ensure the health of human being. Its academic principle is based on the powerful and vigorous integration of Chinese traditional and modern medicine, and its mission is:?
(1) scientific research, exchange and promulgation in acute care, and prevention of Burns;
(2) providing educational opportunity and technical training for Burn Care Providers;
(3) generalizing new achievements in Burn Regenerative Therapy;
(4) organizing and compiling publications within the Burn Care Field.?
(5) offering Consultation Service for Burn Patients and Their family members and Burn Care professionals not only in China but also all over the world.
CBAIM members include burn care physicians, nurses, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, psychologists, rehabilitation experts, and research personnel. Firefighters, administrators, prevention educators, and burn patients also comprise the CBAIM membership. Membership is open to health care professionals and others with a demonstrated interest/accomplishment in the field of burns.
One of the CBAIM's major activities is to further the professional education of its members. Annual meetings that include postgraduate and correlative sessions are held----with accreditation awarded by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine for Continuing Medical Education.
The CBAIM publishes the Chinese Journal of Burns Wounds and Surface Ulcers, its official bimonthly publication, along with the Association's newsletter. The Journal is peer-reviewed, and includes the latest information in research and clinical burn care, wound management.
